Thank you for visiting my website. My wish is that you find something here that helps you, nurtures you, intrigues you or excites you.
I have been an entrepreneur all of my life. As a little girl, I used to start clubs so I could be the President. I would also turn my bedroom into a department store. Everything would be organized, displayed and priced to sell to my imaginery customers. When something went missing in the house, my Mother would come looking in my room to see if it was in my "store."
I grew up in a small coal mining town in southern West Virginia. I attended a one room school grades 1-6 and was the only child in my class 3rd - 6th grade. I don't know what, if any, impact this had on my life but it sure makes for some interesting stories. My junior high/high school was huge by comparison. There were 187 students in my graduating class!
After graduating I went off to college majoring in Language Arts Education. Girls didn't get much career counseling at that time (1969) so our options seemed limited. I didn't think I could handle nursing, sitting in an office wasn't my idea of a good time and I wasn't ready to be a wife and mother. So I chose teaching as a career, even though it wasn't something I was excited about. Secretly, I harbored these ideas of moving to a loft in New York City and writing the great American novel. That was a bit of a stretch since I had never been to NYC, wasn't really sure what a loft was and had written very little. But it sure sounded a lot more exciting mysterious than where I was headed.
In college I was exposed to ideas I didn't know existed and people who fascinated me with their knowledge and life experiences. I had been pretty sheltered in my small home town and I started to see the bigger picture...and I wanted more.
